There is no set length for therapy. Most of our clients see improvement by six to eight sessions.
I’ve never been in therapy. How do I start?

What is the age range you see?
My clientele encompasses children, adolescents, and adults. Therapy with children will likely involve parental engagement and support.
Do you offer sessions online or in-person?
Currently, I am only seeing clients virtually. Research shows that virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy.
What kinds of presenting problems do you treat?
Most clinical psychologists have training in many presenting problems and mental health disorders. To name a few, my specialization encompasses treating symptoms of depression and anxiety, adjustments in life transitions, trauma-focused treatment, acculturation difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and parent-child conflicts.
What occurs during the free 20-consultation?
The free 20-minute consultation is a time set apart for us to briefly get to know one another and discuss goals you would like to focus on in therapy.
What is the goal of therapy?
Therapeutic goals vary on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the presenting concerns, therapeutic goals reflect what an individual would like to achieve in therapy, such as reducing the severity of certain mental health symptoms, learning specific skills to help manage everyday struggles, or building relationships to feel safe, secure, and loving. It is also okay if you do not have a set goal for therapy yet. In the end, therapy is a safe space to express, reflect, and learn how to empower you and your loved ones.
What will my first session look like?
Before the first session, participants in therapy will be asked to complete an intake form comprising of background information and presenting concerns. The first session for adults or parents will entail reviewing what was written and going into more depth about the presenting concerns. First session with children and adolescents will mainly be focused on building rapport, getting to know one another and if applicable, speaking about current concerns.
How would therapy help my child or adolescent?
Research shows that there are many reasons for why therapy can be helpful. Whether it be the therapeutic alliance, learned techniques, parental coaching, or just having the listening ear of a professional, I have found that having someone outside of the family who can support and be on your child or adolescent’s side can be a remarkable experience.
What does family therapy look like?
There are many approaches to family therapy. Depending on the presenting concerns, sessions can be conducted with family members individually or all together. Typically, a combination of meeting with family members individually and together can be most effective. The power of family therapy resides in empowering each other’s perspective and learning how to communicate with each communication style in mind.
How do I end therapy?
Ending therapy can be a very empowering experience! Therapy is about developing the confidence and skills to make the best decisions for you and your loved ones. Ideally, we can have a conversation about winding things down so that we can review your therapeutic goals and discuss a plan for you to move forward with success!
Do you accept insurance?
I am considered an out-of-network provider and am not associated with health insurance panels. We can provide you with a bill that you can submit to your insurance agency for possible reimbursement.
What are your fees?
