Empower yourself

The study of neurodivergence is coming to a place where we are beginning to change the way we think about ourselves. Instead of trying to change the neurodivergent self or way of thinking into fitting a neurotypical world, we are embracing and empowering neurodiversity and neurodivergence.

What is Neurotypical?

Neurotypical is a term used to describe individuals who communicate, think, perceive, and behave in ways that are considered the “norm” in the general population.

What is Neurodiversity?

Neurodiversity is a term that encompasses all types of being and ways of communicating, thinking, perceiving, and behaving, including those who are neurotypical and neurodivergent.

What is Neurodivergence?

Neurodivergence is a term used to describe individuals who present with atypical forms of communciation, thinking patterns, perception, and behavior that are considered outside of the “norm” from the general population.

Those who encompass the neurodivergent population have been diagnosed or have traits similar to:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Learning Disability

Other Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Many neurodivergent individuals function perfectly well in their daily activities and in society as a whole. Others can struggle navigating at school, in their workplace, or in their familial or social relationships. Those who have more difficulties can benefit from receiving educational and/or therapeutic services. There can be much stigma attached to neurodivergence. With today’s research and growing support, we are ready to cultivate and diversify different ways of being.
